What is Axl Rose diagnosed with?
The most persistent health question about Rose involves his mental health. In 2010, a former bandmate told Alternative Nation (music news site) that Rose “may have manic depression,” a condition that explained his volatile behavior and strained friendships. The singer himself has never confirmed that diagnosis. However, he has publicly stated that he suffers from Ménière’s disease (an inner‑ear disorder that causes vertigo and hearing loss). A TMJ procedure in 2026 was also reported by WhoFame (celebrity biography site). The implication: Rose’s health challenges are real, but the exact nature remains private.
Mental-health and IQ claims about Rose circulate widely, but they come from unverified secondary sources — Rose has never publicly confirmed a bipolar disorder diagnosis.
Is Axl Rose still sober?
Rose has been open about past struggles with alcohol, but his current sobriety is not publicly confirmed. Entertainment outlets often repeat the question without a definitive answer. The catch: without an explicit statement from Rose or his management, it remains unknown.
Does Axl Rose have high IQ?
Claims that Rose has an exceptionally high IQ circulate online, but WhoFame (celebrity biography site) notes they are “unverified and speculative.” No standardized test result has ever been published. The pattern: intelligence claims about celebrities often lack credible sources.
Has Axl Rose got any children?
Despite being a public figure for nearly four decades, Simple English Wikipedia (simplified biographical repository) lists Rose as having no publicly acknowledged children. His marriage to Erin Everly in 1990 ended without offspring, and subsequent relationships have not produced any known children. The implication: on the subject of fatherhood, Rose remains entirely private.
Is Axl Rose a millionaire?
Yes, Rose is a millionaire. Celebrity Net Worth (estimated net worth tracker) places his fortune at $200 million, making him the richest member of Guns N’ Roses. But how does that compare to other rock wealth?
Who is the richest member of Guns N’ Roses?
Rose’s $200 million exceeds the estimated net worth of Slash ($90 million) and Duff McKagan ($50 million), according to Celebrity Net Worth (wealth tracking site). The trade-off: Rose’s wealth comes largely from touring and royalties, while band members who left earlier built smaller fortunes.
Who is the wealthiest rock band of all time?
The Rolling Stones are often cited as the highest-earning rock band, with cumulative gross earnings exceeding $1.5 billion, per Wikipedia (general encyclopedia). However, individual members’ net worths are lower than some solo artists.
Who are the five billionaire musicians?
As of 2025, Forbes lists five musicians with billion‑dollar fortunes: Jay‑Z ($2.5B), Paul McCartney ($1.2B), Rihanna ($1.4B), Kanye West ($400M pre‑drop), and Taylor Swift ($1.1B) — though exact rankings vary. Rose is not among them.
Who is richer, Paul McCartney or Mick Jagger?
Paul McCartney’s estimated net worth of $1.2 billion surpasses Mick Jagger’s $500 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth (wealth tracking site). McCartney’s songwriting rights and Beatles catalog provide a larger income stream.
The gap between Rose and rock’s biggest earners becomes clear in a side-by-side net-worth comparison.
| Musician | Known For | Estimated Net Worth |
|---|---|---|
| Axl Rose | Lead vocalist, Guns N’ Roses | $200 million |
| Slash | Lead guitarist, Guns N’ Roses | $90 million |
| Duff McKagan | Bassist, Guns N’ Roses | $50 million |
| Paul McCartney | Former Beatle / solo artist | $1.2 billion |
| Mick Jagger | Lead vocalist, The Rolling Stones | $500 million |
The pattern: live performance returns and publishing catalogs separate the top tier of rock wealth.
Where does Axl Rose live today?
Rose lives in a secluded home in Malibu, California, a location that allows him to avoid constant public attention. The property reportedly includes a studio and ocean views. Why this matters: after years of itinerant touring, the Malibu home represents a base for a performer who values privacy.
Is Axl Rose a nice guy in real life?
Publicly, Rose has a reputation for volatile outbursts — including a Parade.com (entertainment publication) report of a 2025 onstage meltdown in Buenos Aires caused by faulty in‑ear monitors. Yet those who know him describe a different person. A former associate told Alternative Nation (music news site) that Rose is “generous and intensely private” once trust is earned.
Who is considered the nicest guy in rock?
That title often goes to Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters frontman, known for approachability). The comparison highlights how public persona and private reality can differ — Rose’s “difficult” reputation contrasts with glimpses of warmth.
Axl Rose is simultaneously one of rock’s biggest earners and most misunderstood figures. His $200 million net worth is a fraction of the wealth of billionaire musicians, yet his personal spending habits and health struggles remain largely hidden from the press.
What this means: the public outbursts and private warmth are two sides of the same guarded personality.

Confirmed facts vs. what remains unclear
Research confidence in Rose’s biography is low due to conflicting reports and lack of official verification. The lists below separate what is substantiated from what is speculated.
Confirmed facts
- Net worth of $200 million (Celebrity Net Worth)
- No acknowledged children (Simple English Wikipedia)
- Member of Guns N’ Roses since 1985 (Axl Rose Official Site)

- Exact medical diagnosis (bipolar disorder is a report, not confirmed by Rose) (Alternative Nation)
- Current sobriety status (Australia Focus)
- IQ level
- Whether he is genuinely nice in private
- Exact residence (reported as Malibu, California, but unverified by official sources) (WhoFame (celebrity biography site))
The catch: most claims about Rose’s health and habits come with a source gap that readers should weigh before drawing conclusions.
“He may have manic depression, which can make friendships difficult.”
— Former bandmate, quoted by Alternative Nation (music news site)
“The meltdown in Buenos Aires was caused by faulty in‑ear monitors, not anger.”
— Band spokesperson, reported by Parade.com (entertainment publication)
For fans and journalists alike, the takeaway is that Rose’s life is as layered as his music. The lack of transparency around his health and sobriety leaves many questions open, but the documented facts — his wealth, his privacy, his resilience — offer a grounded portrait.
